About this letter-indexed view

This page lists every company beginning with the letter O that appears in the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) Consumer Complaint Database. The CFPB has accepted consumer complaints since 2011 and publishes them as a public dataset so consumers, journalists, and researchers can study patterns across the financial services industry. PlainComplaint mirrors that database and groups it by company so a single company page rolls up every complaint filed against that institution across every product, state, and complaint year.

Companies on this page are listed by name by default. You can switch the sort to "Most Complaints" to surface the highest-volume institutions starting with this letter, "Timely Response" to find companies with the strongest response track record, or "Most Recent" to see who has had complaints filed most recently. Each row links to a dedicated company page with year-over-year trends, the top complaint products, the issue categories driving volume, and a state-level breakdown showing where the company's customer base is filing the most reports.

How to interpret these numbers

Total complaint counts reflect raw volume — they do not control for a company's customer base size, market share, or product mix. A large nationwide bank can show six-figure complaint counts simply because it serves tens of millions of customers. A smaller regional lender with a low complaint count may still have a higher per-customer complaint rate. To compare companies fairly, look at "Timely Response %" alongside total volume: this measures the share of complaints the company answered within the CFPB's deadline. A high timely rate combined with a low consumer-disputed rate is a stronger signal of customer-service quality than raw count alone.

A complaint in this database is not a finding of wrongdoing. The CFPB does not verify the facts of each complaint before publishing it; complaints are consumer-submitted narratives. Companies have the opportunity to respond, dispute, or resolve each complaint, and many are resolved with monetary or non-monetary relief. The strength of the dataset is its scale — millions of records spanning every major U.S. consumer finance category — and its neutrality: it reports what consumers said happened, regardless of the company's perspective.

What you'll find on each company page

Each company detail page derives every statistic from the live PlainComplaint database. You'll see the company's total complaint volume since 2011, the timely-response rate, the breakdown by financial product (mortgages, credit cards, debt collection, credit reporting, and so on), the most common complaint issues filed against that company, the top states by complaint volume, and a year-over-year trend showing whether complaint volume is rising or falling. Where the database includes the company's most-recent assets or revenue, those values are shown so readers can compare complaint volume against firm size — context that raw counts alone cannot provide.

Companies are deduplicated where possible: subsidiaries are linked back to their parent organization, and shared identifiers from the CFPB are used to merge duplicate entries that appear under slightly different names. If you spot a company that should be merged with another, contact our editorial team — corrections are processed and reflected on the next dataset refresh.

Source & refresh cadence

All complaint records originate from the CFPB Consumer Complaint Database, downloaded from the agency's public data portal at consumerfinance.gov. We refresh the dataset on a regular cadence so the rankings, browse pages, and detail-page statistics stay aligned with the agency's latest public release. See the methodology page for the full data pipeline, deduplication rules, and refresh schedule. See the full company index for the alphabetical view across every letter, or jump to the rankings hub for live top-10 lists computed from the same database.
